Groninger luchten

Dutch painters in the 17th century were famous for their beautiful skies. They als named it Hollandse luchten. But in fact it were the skies in Groningen and Friesland that were so high and with a lot of different clouds. Nowadays that still is. I visite Groningen and Friesland regular. I must say the Groninger Skyes stole my heart. I can't stop looking at them and make photographs. The photo's here were made and of August 2023. lees verder

Holy light

Because of a trip I made to Middelburg in Zeeland, actually where the roots of my grandmother lie, who's name I saw on several doors and who's voice I recognised in the voices of the woman I heard talking to me, I got the idea for this series of photo's. My plan is to make it a special item and go to other places for holy light. lees verder

Beijing old and modern

Busy is the town Beijing, crowdy and the first days I felt like an illiterate. Luckily we had a guide the first days. Later on I learned to manage how to survive especially when you want to cross the streets. My hometown Amsterdam is a little village in comparison with the big city's in China. lees verder

Fragas de Sao Simao

Fragas de Sao Simao in Portugal is one of the places I especially like. Every time I come there there is a change, like nature changes all the time. I am always again surprised by it's beauty. As you see on my site I love to make landscape pictures and in my paintings and textile art I often use landscapes too.lees verder

Anchorage

Try to capture Anchorage in sixteen photo's. Well that's difficult because Anchorage is not only the city but also the surroundings around the city, The Chuchag national state park, the wetlands, the water, the little planes. The people. Too much to name and too much photo's. Later on there will be more photo's. The weather was very Alaskan when we arrived and high in the Chucag it was snowing and foggy beautiful. But the last two days the weather was exceptional warm. And there is a beautiful museum in Anchorage. I will make a different item of that.lees verder

Seal Rock, Oregon Coast

The Oregon coast is a special coast for me. I love the rough rocks, the water that splashes, the color of sky, water, sand. Andof course more. It doesn't matter how the weather is. The weather changes by hour anyway. Now we went to a new place for me: Waldport and close by is Seal Rock. No seals available this day but I had already seen them in Newport.lees verder

Zwaan/swan

The swan swims, the swan splashes water in his flight away from us. Why should he stay, he has to lure us away from the nest of young swans.
And when he fails to do that he attacks. We let it succeed because yes, who can resist the beautiful trail he gives us.

Regen – Rain

Taxichauffeur in Bergen, Noorwegen

Bergen is de meest regenachtige stad in Europa.

Taxidriver in Bergen Norway

Bergen is the rainiest city in Europe.
But rain is not negative, rain is positive, It makes everything green, makes our food grow.
Gives us water to drink and fish to eat. It washes everything clean.
It makes the air moist and therefore our skin smooth and young. Women stay beautiful because of the rain, they don’t need creams from jars.
Yes rain is a positive thing!

Maria

The river runs on and on and never returns. When I was little I often sat at this place watching the running water. Later I left to work and get married and I went to live with my children in the city. There was no time to look at the water. Now that I am old, I have come back to this house and I look again at the river, at the water that flows away from me.

Zakaria

Everything that moves is alive. The river is moving so she lives. In my country, Iran, I walked with the river until I got tired. I lay down and asked the river if she wanted to take me. But the river did not take me, she went her own way and told me so that I too should have to go my own way.
